How do I manage and track sponsorship campaigns in the Brand Control Center?

The Brand Control Center provides campaign owners with a consolidated view of all sponsorships, making it easy to track their status (Draft, Scheduled, Live, Expired).

Key capabilities include:

  • Campaign Management: Easily edit, pause, resume, or duplicate campaigns without requiring assistance from Genuin support.
  • Performance Insight: Access sponsorship-specific analytics to evaluate performance and inform future optimization strategies.

Additionally, the ability to export data as a CSV allows brands to integrate sponsorship information directly into their existing BI (Business Intelligence) and reporting pipelines.

Guide - Campaign Lifecycle Management

1. Understand Sponsorship States

Sponsorship campaigns can have the following statuses:

  • Draft: The campaign's initial configuration is complete, but it has not yet been scheduled.
  • Scheduled: The campaign is ready and will automatically go Live at the specified start time.
  • Live: The campaign is currently running and delivering content.
  • Expired: The campaign has concluded, either because the end date was reached or it was manually paused.

Note: The Pending Approval status is defined but is not utilized in the current phase.

2. Transitions

Here's how sponsorship campaign statuses transition:

  • Draft campaigns are manually moved to Scheduled.
  • Scheduled campaigns automatically become Live at their defined start date/time.
  • Live campaigns transition to Expired when either:
    • The end date is reached.
    • The configured budget is exhausted.
  • A Live campaign can be manually set to Expired by using the Pause function.
  • The Resume function can reactivate an Expired campaign, provided its dates and configuration remain valid.

3. Edit Rule by State

The ability to modify sponsorship campaigns in the Brand Control Center varies based on the campaign's status:

Draft/Scheduled Campaigns:

  • Title
  • Posts
  • CPM (Cost Per Mille)
  • Budget
  • Sponsoring Brand
  • Start Date
  • End Date
  • Payment Type

Live Campaigns:

  • Title
  • Posts
  • End Date

You cannot edit the following once a campaign is Live:

  • CPM (Cost Per Mille)
  • Budget
  • Sponsoring Brand
  • Start Date
  • Payment Type

4. Use the Three-Dot Menu Actions

The following actions are available for managing sponsorship campaigns based on their status:

Troubleshooting & Common Issues

This section outlines common issues and their solutions when managing and tracking sponsorship campaigns:

A. Cannot Schedule a Draft Sponsorship

  • Cause: Not all required fields have been completed.
  • Behavior: Scheduling is blocked, and the message "Complete all required fields before scheduling" is displayed.

B. Sponsorship Not Delivering

Action: Verify the following points:

  • The sponsorship State is Live.
  • The End date is set in the future.
  • The allocated Budget has not been exhausted.
  • The relevant Placement is enabled in Ad Config.
  • The Placement is part of an active ad preset.

C. Resume Action Fails

  • Cause: Typically occurs due to invalid or past dates, or missing required configuration.
  • Solution: Update the configuration (especially dates) and attempt the resume action again.

D. General Lifecycle Action Failures

Failures in actions like schedule, pause, resume, delete, or copy will result in error messages such as:

  • "Failed to schedule sponsorship. Try again"
  • "Failed to pause sponsorship. Try again"
  • "Failed to resume sponsorship. Try again"
  • "Failed to delete sponsorship. Try again"
  • "Failed to copy to draft. Try again"

E. Draft / Edit Save Failures

When saving a new draft or editing an existing sponsorship, you may encounter:

  • "Failed to save the draft. Try again"
  • "Failed to save changes. Try again"

Rules & Key Considerations

  • Campaign must be complete before scheduling
  • Live campaigns have limited edit access
  • Budget exhaustion ends campaign early
  • Draft campaigns do not auto-go live

Specs & Limitations

  • Fixed State Machine: Campaigns follow a strict progression: Draft > Scheduled > Live > Expired. The 'Pending Approval' state is not currently in use.
  • Limited Live Edits: Once a sponsorship is Live, only the Title, associated Posts, and the End Date can be modified.
  • Handling Paused Campaigns: Paused sponsorships are functionally treated as Expired regarding both their state and content delivery.
  • Resumption Requirements: To resume a paused campaign, the End Date must be valid (in the future). Campaigns that have already passed their scheduled End Date must be updated before they can be resumed.
  • Permissions: User roles (Owner, Admin, Content Manager, Viewer) dictate the permissions for managing sponsorships.

Example Scenarios
